Your account
Delete your TreatHour account
In short
- You can delete your account yourself, in the TreatHour app or on the website. You'll need your password.
- We sign you out everywhere straight away and delete the account after 14 days. Until then, sign in and choose “Keep my account” to change your mind.
- Your name, contact details, photo and password are deleted, and so are your contact details on your bookings and other records (messages you sent our team are kept). Your email address and phone number can then be used for a new account.
- Records of payments stay, without your name or contact details, because the law makes us keep money records.
- Can't sign in? Contact us and we'll do it for you.
How to delete your account
In the app
Open Profile, then Your data → Delete account.
On the website
Sign in, open Account → Settings, then Your data → Delete my account.
We show you anything that has to be sorted out first and what happens to your gift vouchers and business. Tick each point, enter your password and confirm.
Want a copy of your data first? On the website choose Download my data (a file with your profile, bookings, reviews, gift vouchers, walk-in visits and receipts). In the app choose Email me my data: we email the same file to your email address once you've confirmed it.
What you need to sort out first
- Upcoming bookings. Cancel them (the usual cancellation rules apply) or wait until your appointments are done.
- A walk-in queue. Leave it, or finish your visit and pay anything still due.
- Business owners also need: no bookings at the business that aren't finished (served, completed or cancelled), nobody in its walk-in queue, every payout already in your bank (nothing waiting to be paid to you), and no gift vouchers for your business that still have money on them (contact us and we'll sort those out with you).
TreatHour team accounts can't be deleted this way: ask the superadmin to remove you from the team first.
The 14 days to change your mind
- As soon as you confirm, we sign you out on every phone and computer, including the app.
- We email you (if your email address is confirmed) and text you (if your phone number is confirmed) the date your account will be deleted.
- To keep your account, sign in with your email and password before that date and choose Keep my account. Your account stays and you're signed in. Once we've started deleting it, it can't be kept any more.
- While your account waits to be deleted we don't send password reset links. Forgot your password? Contact us and we can cancel the deletion for you.
- After the 14 days we delete the account (our daily job does it, so it can be up to a day later), and then email you one last time.
- If you book again or join a walk-in queue during those days (for example without signing in, with the same email or number), we wait until that visit is over before deleting the account.
What's deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number, profile photo and password. Nobody can sign in to the account again.
- The names, phone numbers, email addresses and notes you gave on your bookings and walk-in tickets, and the private links to them (they stop working).
- What businesses kept about you as a client on TreatHour (your name, contact details, their notes and tags, and whether you said yes to their offers), and enquiries you sent through a business's website. We match these by your account and your confirmed email address and phone number.
- Bookings, gift vouchers and walk-in visits you made without signing in, with your confirmed email address or phone number, are treated the same way.
- The phone number and wording in our record of the texts we sent to your confirmed number, and about your bookings (we keep only that a text was sent, so the same message is never sent twice).
- Your access to any business team you were part of.
What we keep, and why
- Bookings and payments. The amounts, dates, references, the business and the service stay as money records, which the law makes us keep. They show “Deleted customer” instead of you, and so do their receipts.
- Your reviews. The stars and words stay, shown as from a “Former customer” and no longer linked to you.
- Gift vouchers. A gift voucher is a code, and it keeps working until it expires. A voucher you bought for someone stays theirs (your name and email are removed from the purchase). Vouchers sent to your confirmed email or number keep working, without your name and contact details, and aren't in any account any more, so save their codes first.
- Messages to our team. Emails and contact-form messages you sent us are kept as company correspondence.
- A note that the account was deleted in our internal security log, by account number only (not your name or email).
- Copies we can't reach: emails and texts already sent to you or to a business, and Paystack's own records of card payments (it keeps those under its own legal duties).
- Backups. Our database backups aren't edited, so an older backup may still hold a copy until it's replaced on our backup schedule. Backups are kept secure and only used to recover the service after a fault.
If you own a business on TreatHour
- Your business closes with your account. As soon as you confirm it goes offline: it's hidden from search, and its TreatHour page and website stop taking bookings. Your team can still look at the dashboard but can't change anything.
- Your plan is cancelled and won't renew. There's no refund for the rest of the paid period; a free trial stops straight away.
- If you keep your account, the business goes back online and a free trial carries on until its end date. A paid plan stays set not to renew: switch it back on in Plan & billing if you want it.
- If money is still owed to your business when the 14 days are over, or people are still in its walk-in queue, we wait (and keep its bank details) until the money has been paid out to your bank.
- When the account is deleted we delete the business's photos, customer list, team, opening hours, website, promotions, email campaigns, enquiries and bank details, and disconnect its own domain. Your managers and staff lose access.
- The business's name and address stay on its past bookings, receipts and payout statements, its services stay as names and prices only, and its reviews stay. Its web address can't be taken by anyone else for 90 days.
- Download your customer list first if you need it: Dashboard → Customers → Export (on plans with the customer list).
Can't sign in?
Contact us from the email address on your account. Once we've checked it's you, our team can delete your account for you (the same 14 days and the same rules apply), or cancel a deletion you asked for.
